Jet Orientation Course (JOC)

Our JOC course gives you the ability to gain sustainable practical knowledge on a B737NG aircraft. Where the MCC course has its main emphasis to focus on the team work in the cockpit, the JOC course is all about how you steer a B737NG aircraft manually. Our JOC program was developed under the consideration of airline pilot standards and includes a specific B737 UPRT training. Additionally, the training will prepare students for airline screenings and their first type rating training on multi-pilot aeroplanes.

Training course

The RWL jet orientation course B737 comprises at least:

  • 6 hours classroom training within 1 day
  • 2 hours practical training (fixed based B737)
  • 4 hours practical training (full flight B737)

If you train in a crew, you will complete 6 h PF and 6 h PM.

Competencies

The training comprises both theoretical and practical elements and is designed to achieve the following competencies:

  • Take-off, approach, landing, go-around
  • Flight deck management practices
  • Complex problem-solving techniques
  • Advanced handling
  • Manual handling skills (no autopilot, no auto thrust, and where possible, no flight director)
  • Flight at different speeds, including slow flight and altitudes within the normal flight envelope
  • Steep turns
  • Aeroplane stability and stall awareness
  • Recovery techniques from developed upsets, including stall events
